Suppliers that include charging mechanism?
Jun 19th, 2009, 2:51am

Hello, Ken. We are looking for providers that include a shopping cart facility within their registration process, so that we can charge for one-off webinar / web cast events. I wondered if you knew of any? Something like the services that eventbrite.com offer, but for web event booking? thanks, Bill

Bill,

I'm going to do more research and testing on this feature. It's a request I'm seeing more and more these days. I tried using Conferendum for this purpose on a client's webinar and although the idea was there, the practical implementation was poor and we were both dissatisfied.

ConferTel will build out a custom shopping cart interface for you, as will several other vendors, but this is only practical from a cost and setup perspective if you are doing a very large event or an ongoing series. It's not built in for do-it-yourself registration setup.

TalkPoint added an ability to charge for events, but I haven't tested out the implementation yet. BusinessExpertWebinars.com now has the ability to "private label" an interface for events done using their technology. That effectively gives you a shopping cart system under your name. They work on a revenue sharing model.

We need more vendors and easier ways to implement this! Smiley

Thanks for that speedy reply, Ken - very helpful. I'll have a look at the suppliers you mention.
